Matt's Background & Story

Meet Matt & Eve

Matthew and his wife, Eve, have been happily married for over 20 years, sharing a life filled with adventure, learning, and an unwavering commitment to well-being. Together, they’ve moved 18 times, spending their longest stretches in New York City, Los Angeles, and now settling in the beautiful community of Jupiter, FL. They are proud parents to their two incredible children, Christian and Emma.

Matthew and Eve’s journey began in 2000 when they met working as personal trainers at a gym in New Jersey, bonded by their mutual passion for health and wellness. However, despite their dedication to a “healthy lifestyle,” they both faced chronic orthopedic and systemic health challenges. Frustrated by the limitations of conventional approaches, they realized that the mainstream "healthy way" wasn’t delivering the vitality they sought.

Determined to find real solutions, they became obsessed with uncovering the truth about fitness, health, and longevity—diving deep into cutting-edge research, innovative methodologies, and holistic practices. Their mission? To crack the code to true vitality and share their knowledge to help others live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Matt's Early Years: Passion for Sports & Calling to Wellness

Born in New Jersey as the fourth of five children to Louis and Kathleen LaBosco, Matthew spent his childhood on sports fields and courts, developing a deep love for athletics.

A three-sport athlete, he excelled in soccer, basketball, and baseball, earning All-State honors in both basketball and soccer during high school.

However, a series of injuries prevented him from competing at the collegiate level. This setback became a turning point—fueling his lifelong pursuit of understanding exercise, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall health. His personal experience with injuries ignited a passion to help others move better, heal stronger, and achieve lasting vitality.

Lifelong Pursuit of Knowledge and Results

Growing up as the son of a doctor and a nurse practitioner, Matthew had firsthand exposure to the medical model and its strengths—but also its limitations. While he recognized the power of traditional medicine, he quickly saw where it fell short in addressing long-term health and wellness.

This realization ignited his passion for learning beyond conventional medicine. He and his wife, Eve, dedicated themselves to studying under the best health professionals and practitioners, which became the driving force behind their many relocations. They were willing to move anywhere to learn from those who were truly making a difference.

For Matthew, credentials were secondary to real results. He sought out professionals who consistently helped their patients and clients achieve lasting transformation. Just as importantly, he valued critical thinking and principle-based approaches, rather than rigid adherence to any single methodology or modality.

This relentless pursuit of truth, effectiveness, and innovation continues to shape his approach to health, wellness, and vitality today.

MATT'S TRAINING & EDUCATION

Blending Fitness, Psychology, and Neuroscience

Matthew began his career as a personal trainer, immersing himself in the world of fitness and movement. At the same time, he pursued his passion for understanding human behavior and the mind, earning a four-year Psychology degree from Rutgers College in New Jersey.

Fascinated by neuroscience and the psychology of behavior, he recognized that no matter what path he took, a deep understanding of how people think, learn, and change would be invaluable.

Building on this foundation, he went on to earn multiple certifications in fitness, movement, and rehabilitation, expanding his expertise to help others achieve true, lasting well-being.

  • Corrective Movement Specialist & Performance Enhancement Specialist from National Academy of Sports Medicine
  • Strength & Conditioning Specialist from National Strength & Conditioning Association
  • Olympic Weightlifting Level I Certification from US Weightlifting

From here he realized that he needed to understand more about the soft tissues of the body (muscles, fascia, tendons, etc.) and how to more directly manipulate it. He then went on to complete the following:

  • A Licensed Massage Therapist from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine
  • Certifications in Active Release Technique for Spine, Lower Body, Upper Body, and Nerve Entrapments

And although these certifications were valuable, nothing was more impactful on Matthew's learning than his mentorships. Learning directly from some of the world's experts in Movement, Physical Rehabilitation and Nutrition were priceless. This included

  • 10 Year Apprenticeship with Lenny Parracino, currently a NBA Soft Tissue Therapist & Rehab Specialist
  • Fellow of Applied Functional Science from the Gray Institute
  • 5 Year Apprenticeship with Dr. Ray Peat & head educator of The Metabolic Typing Institute and Nutritionist, Dodie Anderson

Expanding the Vision: From Physical to Mental & Emotional Well-Being

At the height of his work in Corrective Movement Therapy, Matthew was serving hundreds of clients at his Pasadena, CA clinic, The Vitality Center. People from across the country came not only for his expertise but also to learn and apprentice under him.

Despite his deep knowledge in movement, fitness, rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy, and nutrition, Matthew realized that something was still missing—the mental and emotional side of wellness.

This realization led him full circle back to his early passion: psychology and personal development.

For the next eight years, Matthew dedicated himself to both learning and helping a mentor build a personal development organization. He shifted his focus to coaching and mentoring, specializing in meditation, stress management, and life coaching. His work included:

✅ Leading weekly classes
✅ Providing one-on-one coaching
✅ Teaching weekend seminars across the country

However, in 2021, Matthew made the difficult decision to leave the organization. As it grew, he felt its mission had shifted—rather than empowering individuals to thrive on their own, it was fostering dependency on the organization. This misalignment with his values led him to step away.

Determined to continue his pursuit of truly empowering mental and emotional coaching, Matthew went on to earn advanced certifications in transformational coaching methodologies—deepening his ability to help people take ownership of their health, mindset, and life direction.

Bringing It All Together: Authoring Health to Vitality

Drawing from years of experience working with thousands of individuals across physical, systemic, mental, and spiritual well-being, Matthew distilled his knowledge into his first book, Health to Vitality, published in 2022.

The book quickly became an Amazon #1 New Release, earning rave reviews for its transformative approach to health, resilience, and vitality.

Matt's Approach & Process

What Makes This Approach So Unique?

Completely New Perspective

For 25+ years Matt has been obsessively creating a new paradigm inside of overall well-being. He noticed and experienced the major flaws in the health and medical models at a very young age. He knew there had to be a better way. This is when he discovered the difference between Health & Vitality.

Health vs. Vitality

Health & Medical Model is Pursuit of Survival

There is a major difference in the pursuit of Vitality and the pursuit of Health.

Health is the absence of illness and disease. Primarily focused on treating symptoms.

Vitality is the capacity to live a meaningful and purposeful existence. Primarily focused on root causes.

The primary assumption when it comes to the Health & Medical model is that the symptom is the problem.

  • “The excessive anxiety you feel is because your brain is broken and needs to be fixed.”
  • “Your high cholesterol is because your endocrine system is flawed and needs to be fixed.”
  • “Your torn meniscus or herniated disc is the problem and needs to be fixed.”
  • “The excessive anxiety you feel is because your brain is broken and needs to be fixed.”
  • “Your high cholesterol is because your endocrine system is flawed and needs to be fixed.”
  • “Your torn meniscus or herniated disc is the problem and needs to be fixed.”

Although this may be the case sometimes, in my experience, over 95% of the time it is not the case.

The Vitality Model is the Pursuit of Thriving

The primary assumption when it comes to the Vitality model is that the symptom is a communication that something bigger needs to be addressed.

  • “The excessive anxiety is communicating that there are problems in you life that need to be addressed.”
  • “Your high cholesterol may or may not be a concern. Let's look at all systemic variable before treating anything.”
  • “Your torn meniscus or herniated disc is a sign that the knee and low back are working too hard. Let's explore who in the kinetic chain is not doing their job.”

The Vitality model sees these things as a communication of A Problem, not the problem.

Below is a chart that illustrates more specific differences between the two paradigms:

PHYSICAL WELL-BEING

SYSTEMIC WELL-BEING

MENTAL WELL-BEING

Physical Well-Being

The Key Difference: Traditional Approach vs. the Vitality Approach to Physical Well-Being

The fundamental distinction between conventional methods and the Vitality approach lies in the understanding of Movement Principles vs. Exercise Principles.

EXERCISE LAND IS FOR THE DEAD
Most traditional disciplines—physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, personal training, yoga, Pilates, and other fitness modalities—are based on studying cadaveric anatomy.

This means we learned how the body works by dissecting dead bodies. Each muscle was examined in isolation, independent of the rest of the body, to determine its function. Based on this, systems were created to rehabilitate and train people using exercises like:

  • Bicep & hamstring curls to build strength
  • Bridges & crunches to strengthen core
  • Dead Bugs & planks to relieve back pain

The problem? Muscles aren’t designed to work in isolation. While these exercises may have some benefit, they don’t reflect how the body naturally moves.

Over time, repeating isolated movements can actually lead to injury rather than prevent it.

Think of it this way: training muscles in isolation is like asking every musician in an orchestra to play their instrument as loud as possible—then expecting them to come together and perform a symphony. The result? Noise. In the body, that noise translates to pain and dysfunction.

MOVEMENT LAND IS FOR THE LIVING
Instead of viewing the body as a collection of separate parts, the Movement Paradigm applies Chain Reaction Biomechanics—a principle developed by the Gray Institute. This approach recognizes that the body moves as a dynamic, interconnected system across all three planes of motion.

Through years of experience applying this methodology, I’ve found that over 95% of musculoskeletal injuries stem from inefficiencies in one or more of the Power Regions.

What Are the Power Regions?

The Power Regions are the body’s primary engines—they generate the most horsepower:

* Foot/ankle
* Hips
* Thoracic spine
* Scapulothoracic joint

In contrast, areas like the knees, lower back, shoulder joint, elbows, and wrists are secondary engines—supportive rather than primary movers.

When the Power Regions fail to function properly, smaller joints compensate and eventually break down. Addressing only these secondary areas without restoring the Power Regions is like fixing a flickering lightbulb without addressing the faulty wiring—it’s only a temporary solution.

The POWER3D Methodology

The POWER3D Method focuses on:

  • Accessing and activating the Power Regions
  • Maintaining and reinforcing their strength
  • Integrating them into full-body movement

This comprehensive approach rehabilitates injuries, prevents future pain, and enhances performance—all at once.

Move the way your body was designed to, and experience vitality instead of breakdown.

The Process for Physical Well-Being

Health History & Vitality Assessment

Before coming in for your comprehensive Bio-Mechanical Movement Evaluation, you will be asked to complete a Health History form with a Vitality Questionnaire.

This will be reviewed before you come in and will be discussed with you during your first session. Specific goals are also identified during this first appointment.

Movement Assessment

After discussing your Health History and identifying your goals, you will then be taken through a Biomechanical Movement Assessment. This assessment will be customized on your current condition, goals, and history.

Each assessment is catered to each individual and what they specifically need and are presenting with.

Not all back pain is caused by the same thing - specificity is imperative to quick and effective results.

Once the Movement Assessment is complete, your program is then designed.

Bodywork Practitioner

Matthew LaBosco is the Bodywork Practitioner and administers the Assessment and Bodywork & Reprogramming aspects of the program.

Movement Practitioner

Nick Elliot is the Movement Practitioner that administers the Conditioning and Enhancement Phases of the program.

REMODEL

Based on your Movement Assessment, certain soft tissues and joints may have been identified as mechanically stuck. This means the soft tissues are not able to lengthen properly and therefore very specific intervention is necessary.

This is where Soft Tissue Remodeling and Sniper Stretching is used.

REPROGRAM

Once the Soft Tissue Remodeling and Sniper Stretching is completed, then you move onto the re-education of this new movement into the body's natural movement patterns.

This involves training specific joint and integrated movements patterns to ensure that the new range of motion created is there for the long term.

CONDITION

Now that there is a re-education of the new movement patterns, it must be conditioned to build strength and endurance.

This is another way to ensure the results acquired in the first two phases are sustained over longer periods of time.

ENHANCE

The enhancement phase is customized to each individuals ultimate goal. The needs of individuals that are just looking to be able to walk without pain vs. individuals that want to play competitive sports are very different and are accounted for in the enhancement phase.

Systemic Well-Being

Once again it is not about treating a symptom, like "high cholesterol." It is about looking at the whole system and assessing each part in context of the whole. The focus of the Systemic Well Being program is Metabolic Vitality.

Metabolic vitality refers to the efficiency and robustness of the body's metabolic processes—how well your body converts food into energy, supports cellular functions, and maintains overall health. It is a measure of how effectively the systems in your body work together to sustain energy, repair tissues, and support life processes. Metabolic vitality is essential for maintaining energy levels, physical performance, mental clarity, and long-term health.

Why Is Metabolic Vitality Important?

1. Energy Production:
Metabolism is responsible for converting nutrients (carbohydrates, fats, and proteins) into energy (ATP), which powers everything from cellular processes to physical movement. Good metabolic vitality ensures you have the energy you need for daily activities and overall well-being.

2. Cellular Health and Repair:
A vital metabolism supports the regeneration and repair of cells, which is crucial for healing, growth, and slowing down aging.

3. Hormonal Balance:
Metabolism affects hormones that regulate appetite, stress, mood, and overall physiological function. Balanced hormones are essential for physical and mental health.

4. Weight Management:
Efficient metabolic processes help maintain a healthy weight by optimizing energy use and storage. Poor metabolic health can lead to issues like obesity or unintentional weight loss.

5. Immune Function:
Metabolic vitality plays a role in supporting the immune system by providing the energy needed for immune cells to function effectively and fight infections.

6. Cognitive Function:
Brain function relies on a steady supply of energy. A healthy metabolism supports focus, memory, and overall mental performance.

7. Disease Prevention:
Maintaining metabolic vitality reduces the risk of metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome, which are often associated with poor metabolic health.

8. Longevity and Quality of Life:
A strong, efficient metabolism contributes to a longer, healthier life with more vitality and resilience to stressors.

How to Support Metabolic Vitality

- Nutrition: Eat a balanced diet with whole foods, lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates.

- Movement: Engage in both aerobic and strength-training activities to improve metabolic efficiency.

- Hydration: Drink enough water to support metabolic processes.

- Sleep: Rest is critical for cellular repair and metabolic regulation.

- Stress Management: Chronic stress disrupts metabolism; practices like mindfulness or yoga can help.

- Micronutrient Support: Ensure adequate intake of vitamins and minerals essential for metabolic enzymes and processes.

In short, metabolic vitality is foundational for a healthy, energetic, and resilient life. It is the cornerstone of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The systemic well-being program is focused on addressing metabolic deficiencies. This can range from toxicity, nutritional deficits, gut issues, hormonal imbalances, and inflammatory disorders.

My Coaching Philosophy: Empowerment Over Dependency

I’ve been a coach in overall well-being for over 25 years, but for a decade of that time, I focused exclusively on Life Coaching. I worked with a Personal Development organization, teaching weekly classes for eight consecutive years and leading weekend seminars for four years.

Through my years in the personal development and coaching world, I learned a crucial lesson: there’s a big difference between empowering someone and making them dependent on you.

One of my most influential mentors put it perfectly when we opened our clinic in Los Angeles:

"Our goal is not to put people on our 401(k) plan."

That philosophy has stayed with me for over 20 years, and it remains one of my core principles.

My Approach to Coaching
My goal is to empower my clients so that, over time, they rely on me less, not more. The timeline for this transformation depends on each individual’s unique situation and the specific skills they need to develop in order to stand confidently on their own.

Who I Work With
I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with:

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, and depressive states
  • Feeling "stuck" in life - whether it's young adults seeking direction or adults balancing careers, parenting, and relationships.
  • Time management and productivity
  • Breaking addictive habits
  • Goal setting and follow-through
  • Finding clarity, meaning, and purpose
  • Whether you're navigating a major life transition, seeking to break old patterns, or striving for a deeper sense of fulfillment, my approach is designed to help you gain the tools, confidence, and clarity to move forward—on your own terms.

Core Principles of My Coaching Approach

1. Ownership – Focus on What You Can Control

No matter your situation, our focus will always be on **what YOU can do** to create change. Taking ownership of your actions, mindset, and decisions is the foundation for growth.

2. Orienting to the Truth – Reality Sets You Free
We will face reality **head-on**, no sugarcoating. The truth—however difficult—holds the key to progress. Together, we’ll develop strategies and build skills that empower you to move forward with confidence.

3. Stay Connected – Know Yourself Fully
True resilience comes from being **deeply connected** to yourself—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. To navigate life’s challenges, you must get to know **all of you**—the good, the bad, and the messy. And that’s okay.

You are **perfectly imperfect**, just like the rest of us. When you embrace this, you build the agency to:
✅ Move toward what you truly want
✅ Cultivate fulfilling relationships
✅ Overcome obstacles with greater ease

4. Clarity on Direction – Define What You Want
Many people spend more time focusing on what they **don’t** want rather than what they **do** want. We’ll shift that perspective and bring **clear direction** to your goals, values, and aspirations.

5. Your Body Is on Your Team
Your body is not working against you—it’s communicating with you. Feelings like sadness, anger, anxiety, and overwhelm are not meant to ruin your day; they’re signals, guiding you toward what needs attention.

Instead of resisting these emotions, you’ll learn how to partner with your body, integrate its messages, and turn them into strengths that support your growth.

This approach is about empowerment, self-trust, and transformation—helping you take charge of your life with clarity and confidence.

The Process

  • Getting to Know Each Other
  • Identifying Our First Goal
  • Getting Connected & Grounded
  • Empowerment Through Ownership
  • Skill Development: Integrating Emotional Communication & Problem Solving

This is a general guideline. I will always focus on your greatest need in each session, weaving in the process where it makes sense.
